you wouldn't believe how difficult it was to find this faceplate... i looked all over home depot, all over lowe's, and all over the internet... and dad and good ole' new haven supply came through in the clutch... brace yourself folks, once again, for another dramatic before and after picture:

Blinds!
This is my bedroom window... notice the new blinds are already closed. i couldn't wait to get back into bed for nap. it's SO nice to finally NOT have 5.5 feet x 6 feet of sunlight... well, maybe not sunlight today... it was pretty dreary.
You may notice the green... i finally settled on a color, in like 4 seconds at home depot last night b/c i worked late and that was all the time i had to spare before they closed... but i had to get the wall around the blinds painted before the guy came today or i was going to risk getting paint on my new blinds... so that's the green. i'm going to do the wall opposite this one even darker. it's a little scary to go for such strong colors, but i think i like it.
And here's the living room window... you can see the giant expanse... it's almost 19 feet long, and 6 feet tall. I've decided to paint the screen door frame (right side of photo) to match the wall. it's kind of a crappy door, though i'm happy to have it b/c of my bug phobia. i couldn't believe, when the man took down those nasty sheers (see photos here), how much light they actually filtered out. turns out i really need to dust. almost asked to put them back up, i hate to dust. where's maria when i need her? i wonder how much she'd charge to JUST come and dust. i'll do everything else...
